Description:
Head up Mickleden from Old Dungeon Gill Hotel. At the end of the valley take the left hand fork in the path & head up Rossett Gill to Angle Tarn. From there either climb through Ore Gap & onto Bowfell or take the path to Esk Hause first before climbing over Esk Pike & onto Bowfell. Now drop down to Three Tarns & either return to the Langdale valley via The Band or continue along the ridge line & take in Crinkle Crags & Long Top returning to Langdale via Browney Gill & Oxendale.
Lovely route around the head of the Langdale Valley
I would recommend the "sporting route" up Rossett Ghyll, the direct ghyll scramble - avoiding the scrappy path at the first opportunity to leave it. It's messy and loose but if I managed it with a crammed-full 60l backpack then anyone can do it :o)
